Cars, the successful film series from Pixar, is especially popular with children. After years of no new movie adventures starring Lightning McQueen and his Joys, this popular character returns this year with a first series exclusively produced for Disney+ streaming service.

The series revolves around a roadtrip Lightning takes where he visits various places in the US. However, this trip won't be entirely solo. He's also going to be joined by his faithful friend Hook on this adventure.
New and well-known Pixar characters are appearing in Cars on the Road.
Further, the duo will also run into characters from the spin-off series Planes, so there are even more familiar faces to look forward to. Of course, it won't only be those we're familiar with. The viewers will also get to know some new characters.
The actor and comedian loaned the characters their voices since the first film, and also take on their roles in the first series around Lightning McQueen. In the German version, Daniel BrÃÂühl played the role of Lightning in the first part, but Manou Lubowski took over this role in Cars 2 and is most likely to speak in this series as well.
Sonderheimer works for example as producer of Coco, while Docter wrote the script for Soul and All That Stands Head at the Drehbuch. However, for the scripts of Cars on the Road, Steve Purcell was responsible as chief author. Purcell is also an active Pixar employee for quite some time now and he took on such tasks as co-director for Merida.
Disney+ will have exclusive cars on the road.
There is currently no set start date for the series, but it is already known that the animated series will premiere in 2022. It is very likely to start in the second half of the year.
