Atlético Madrid
Club Atlético de Madrid is a traditional Spanish club from Madrid, which is best known for its football department. It was founded on April 26, 1903 and currently plays in La Liga with the Estadio Vicente Calderón as its home ground.
Red and white are Real Madrid's club colors, making it easy to spot the players on the pitch. They also have a few nicknames like "Los Colchoneros" or "Mattress Makers" because their best selling mattress back then was in those colors!
Atlético Madrid is a "Sports PLC" (Sociedad Anónima Deportiva - SA), not owned by the members themselves, but by private investors who currently control the shares of the Gil family, whose President Jesús Gil for many years up to his death in 2010; since he controlled most of the stock within that corporation by ownership structure, a vote could be taken before an election if an opportunity arose to remove him from office without losing votes because no other member wanted to change anything about what had been done before been done while keeping the majority rule intact, according to which all decisions must be taken unanimously by the board members unless something major comes up, like a war between neighboring states or whatever.
Big football's appeal got the world's attention to Pelé, but it wasn't until he retired aged just 30 that Brazil really took notice. His successor, Ricardo Villa, stepped down as head coach in 1970, handing the reins of the club to Real Madrid's Jorge Kluiver jnr, who remains president to this day just a year from the end of his tenure
-The Rojiblancos' biggest rivals are a constant clash of players from both sides, made into a rivalry by the derby madrileño that not many people survive without witnessing it themselves.
